About the Artist

Brigit Heller

Vessels, bowls, pods are reoccurring themes in my work. I am drawn to the idea of holding – real or the implied. Protection and keeping safe comes to mind. Despite the size of the works, there is an element of domesticity, the importance of process and regard for the materials used. The use of steel, a hard an unyielding material juxtaposes soft forms and shapes. My inspiration can be found in the natural environment where is sits comfortably amongst plants and trees and creates contrast in an urban environment.
