Vitus

I explore my environment for that which goes unnoticed or that which maybe discarded without a moments thought. Vitus, is a work I completed after studying discarded grape seeds. The shape and lines as with most organic forms was mesmerising.

About the Artist

Angela Macdougall

After completing a Bachelor in Fine Art, sculpture at RMIT , I exhibited at Access Contemporary Art Gallery in Sydney which later became Brenda May Gallery. I held numerous solo exhibitions and involved in group shows during that time. Dogs and images of other animals became a vehicle to explore human emotions and relationships in my early work. From there I began referencing nature, seeds and organic forms which is where my work has continued. My work is heavily influenced by the environment which I am experiencing. I like to explore different materials. Sketching and painting is also an important part of my practice, sometimes as a starting point for 3 dimensional work and also as a completed idea.
